About Pi Gu:
It originally came from traditional Taoist practices. The Pi Gu technique is at least 2,000 years old. Pi Gu or Bi Gu is a fasting program with the assistance of Qi or energy which comes from traditional Taoist practices - the Chinese way of Qigong fasting. It is derived from Qigong (or Chi Gong) practice and leads to fasting. It is necessary to practice Qigong daliy. It is helpful for those in the Pi Gu fasting state as well as for building and maintaining health. It is an ancient Qigong method practiced to reduce consumption of food and water while maintaining normal healthy activities.
Over the centuries it has been proven t be a safe and life nourishing practice. It dispels disease and illness while increasing mental clarity and spiritual awareness. In its simplest forms, it calls for the elimination of all grain, meat and processed foods from the diet. At higher levels a person may take only fresh fruit and vegetable juices and water. At the highest levels no food or water is consumed. A person can sustain this practice for days, weeks or months. Western fasting methods cannot be continued for long because they are not in any way unite with Chi. But in the Pi Gu state people can last a week, a month, or sometimes a year. It can be achieved either through Qigon practice or by treatment from a Qigong practitioner.
Beneift:
In Pi-Gu state, it brings a tremendous benefit to all our body:
You Experience:
Pi means - no and Gu means - grains. This practice is much more then no-grain diet. This is a special meditation that involves different levels of fasting. It is completely natural and very individual. During this process we suppress the functions fo our stomach and activate other systems to nourish the body.
Going Into the Pi Gu State...
Pi Gu involves two steps; closing the stomachs digestive energies (described as shinking the stomach) and opening the pores and lungs to absorb nutrients and energy from the environment. With practice the Pi Gu state can be entered naturally and without conscience effort. A practitioner does not feel hungry during this practice and can adjust the level and length of their practice as needed.
No ingesting or avoiding food does not mean that you have gone into the Pi Gu state. As we have seen, fasting adn Pi Gu have very different feelings. The fating aspect of Pi Gu relates to the cessation of eating only in a physical sense. When we are really in teh Pi Gu state we should not feel hungry while physically feeling more energetic. While the Pi Gu is practice in a natural way, it will not do any harm and is especially effective for those with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, bronchitis, Lung diseases, obesity, sinusitis, heart disease, digestive probelms, nearsightedness, tumors and cancer.
